Jackie Belaino, Sylvia Yadao, Julia DeRego, Tammie Cypriano

Mahalo nui loa to the folks at Summit Paint, Sherman-Williams and our own employee volunteers for giving the Hamakua-Kohala Health clinic in Kapa’au a much needed face lift!

Aunti Sylvia Yadao, Head Custodian at the clinic in Hamakua, wanted to spread a little of her love up in the Kohala community too, so she decided to ask her sister Jackie Belanio to help her make some new curtains for the clinic.

She wouldn’t stop there, Sylvia then asked her son-in-law Christian Magdaro to come and help paint. He said, “I’m happy to do it!”

Ronnie Domingo Jr., Donovan Martinez, Christian Magdaro and Brandon Lee

Well, Christian works for Summit Painting and got his bosses and an entire crew to join him! “I would like to thank Summit Painting for donating their time to paint our facility. Christian, Ronnie, Brandon and Donavan did a beautiful painting job of the interior of our clinic,” said Clinic Manager Regina Gantala.

Christian Magdaro, Ronnie Domingo Jr., Brandon Lee and Donovan Martinez spent two whole days prepping and painting. Thank you to owners Bob and Kay Levine and manager JoAnn Kaneshiro for volunteering the crew to come help us, donating so much time and money, and caring deeply for our community. Summit Painting is a professional, dependable, full-service company and we are lucky to have had their expertise.

When Summit went to buy the paint even manager Gary Sears at the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Kona donated 10 gallons as soon as they found out what a worthy cause Summit was planning. Mahalo Gary.

Nellie Villena, Regina Gantala, Arlene Bruno

Not to be outdone, Hamakua-Kohala Health center employees Arlene Bruno, Nellie Villena, Dr. McKenna, Regina, and Tammie Cypriano and from the Honoka’a clinic, were right there with Auntis Sylvia and Jackie helping to prep for the painting too. They also created a beautiful keiki area: donating time, a rug, books, and a table and chair set.

Thank you to Honokaa Assistant Custodian Julia DeRego and Saint James Church in Waimea as well for donating toys for the children to play with.

Thank you all for joining with us to accomplish great things!
