Caring for Your ‘Ohana, Caring for You

Today, take ONE step for a healthier you!

Whether you’re in your 20s or your 90s, it’s never too early or late to work toward being your healthiest you!

It’s easy to say you’re going to eat healthy, quit smoking or e-cigs/vaping, or start exercising, but we all know it’s much harder to actually do! Maintaining regular checkups is an important habit men and women can do to improve their health. Hamakua-Kohala Health wants to help.

Schedule Your Well-Woman Visit Now

A well-woman visit is an important preventive checkup with your healthcare doctor or nurse practioner and should include discussions of your health habits and family history, setting health goals, and scheduling or receiving exams or screenings.

Screenings include blood pressure, cholesterol, Diabetes, cancer tests, and others. It’s a time to check-in on how you’re doing, how you’d like to be doing, and what changes you can make to reach your health goals.

Prenatal Care Program Available

Pregnant women and their babies are the foundation upon which our community is built and you and your baby deserve the best care from the earliest date possible!

Those who receive early prenatal care are more likely to have healthier babies and fewer complications during labor and recovery. During prenatal care women receive specialized health care services including; health screening, risk assessment, education to prevent pregnancy complications, and referrals for additional services.
