Cathy Marquette is a Hero!
Our very own Nurse Practitioner Cathy Marquette was recently named a Hawaii Healthcare Hero by the Healthcare Association of Hawaii (AHA). According to AHA, “A Hawaii Healthcare Hero is an extraordinary healthcare worker who went above and beyond to care for you or a loved one in a way that you’ll always remember.”
“Being in Family practice, I get to see the whole family (and) get to know the families very well,” said Cathy. “I have become a godmother for a child born to a family I had known through three generations! These relationships with patients are very strong and powerful for me. … Working in community health is my life passion!”
A Hero must be nominated by a patient or family member who had direct care experience from the nominee. The nominee can be any health care provider, doctor, nurse, lab tech, etc. or even non-medical support staff. Winners are chosen by members of the community through the AHA.
Cathy was nominated by patient Rae Therrien who believes, “Cathy is (a) very compassionate, caring health care provider … I have complete confidence in her professional knowledge, abilities and intuition.”
Cathy simply said, “I am honored to be part of so many lives!”
The five Healthcare Heroes and their guests attended the Awards and Scholarship Gala held in their honor on October 29 on Oahu.
